Cracks opening less than or equal to 12.7 mm were repaired by injecting epoxy into the cracks. Hairline cracks do not need sealing, but they should be noted in the repair plans. Cracks openings larger than 12.7 mm should be sealed by removing all loose material along the edges of the crack and then using an expansive cement grout to fill the crack

Indiana DOT

Cracks of 0.30 mm in width and wider should be sealed

Deck cracks to be sealed must be a minimum of 0.2 mm wide
